The longest established piano tuning business in the North East

Piano Tuning Prices

Straightforward tunings are priced at a competitive £70.00 with pitch raisers typically taking three big tunings over the course of four or five months, costing around an estimate of £250, with any possible string-breakages, an extra, which will be discussed before the start of the job.

Piano Repairs

All manner of action repairs can be undertaken, from tapes, tape ends, balance hammer leathers, damper felts, burnishing, damper springs, spiral springs, hammer head refacing or replacement, hammer shank repairs, pedal springs replacement and re-stringing plus many more with all prices on application.

Payment can be made by cash, card, or bank transfer

What can I expect?

The aim is to arrive within the 30 minute window given on booking, however should this look likely to be any later, I would phone ahead to let you know. Delays with traffic and awkward unexpected problems during a previous tuning or repair can impact on a schedule.

On arrival, the aim is for as little disruption as possible. Ideally all pictures, ornaments, sheet music and books should be cleared from the top of the piano pre-visit, but not essential, and maybe clear a little (not a lot) of space around the piano.

A straightforward tuning should fit into an hour but can drift to 75 or 90 minutes at times. Most pianos should be tuned twice a year, or sometimes once depending on the individual piano, although these time scales can be adjusted to suit the customers’ needs.
